Since I’m still looking at horses for my ranch, I thought I’d share another pic of one of my current favorite candidates! This is Endi, who is a 4-year-old registered Appaloosa gelding with a unique leopard pattern coat.
He’s got gorgeous big eyes and a sweet expression. He’s still a little guy, right now, only 14.3 hands high (a hand is 4 inches), and he reportedly loves to herd goats, which is just what I’d want him to do! He is definitely on my must-have equine list! So if I met him and we hit it off, well, he would be coming home with me to be loved on, every day. (^-^)
And now, for something completely different! In Rustler’s Roundup, the four remaining members of Ramon’s gang are hot on the trail, following Joshua and Bill southward, but there is growing dissension among them…which will certainly not lead to anything good!

I spent most of my weekend drooling over horse photos online, picking out possibles for my mini herd. So far, I’ve found nine that I really like, but I think nine is too many. I doubt I could give them all the personal attention they need, and for me, that’s the whole purpose of having horses: lavishing love and attention upon them. I’m not sure how much room I’ll have on my ranch, anyway, as I’m not sure which one I might end up with. With any luck, it will be at least 60 acres, which would be more than enough for, say, four horses and maybe some goats.
Yes, goats. I like goats. I was a goatherder, in a former life, if you must know why I like goats. I get all excited, whenever I see goats out in the country!

Sheesh, I’m falling behind on things, right now! Some of you may not know this, but Rustler’s Roundup is a work-in-progress, and not a finished novel. What you all see is basically a first draft, edited only for typos and grammatical errors and such. I’m posting it pretty much as I write it, with very little lead time, for myself. I generally like to keep about a week ahead of my updates, but some things in my life have interrupted my writing time and eaten up my lead! So, this weekend, I’ll have to do a lot of work to get that lead back!
However, The Faraian Conspiracy, from my ShadowFall series, is a finished and polished novel, but one I wrote several years ago. It’s not in my current writing style, while Roundup is. Over the next few months, I’ll be posting some other stories and novels-in-progress, and I’m hoping you’ll give me a little feedback on which ones you enjoy the most, so I can concentrate my efforts to bring you what you want to see from me! Clicking on the links in the bottom of each blog post, here, will take you to my blog homepage, where you can leave comments or questions about any of the stories. I’ve got it set to allow anyone to post, without having to register, but you can still register if you’d like to reserve your username for future use. Not a lot to talk about, today. Time’s short, and I’m distracted, so I will keep this post to mostly just the update info.
However, sometime this summer, I shall begin posting my epic fantasy novel in serial fashion, as I have done with the ShadowFall and Desperado series. Keep an eye out for that, my friends! It’s a good story, if I must say so, myself! And I must.
Today, in Rustler’s Roundup, Ramon’s gang find his body, and start out to track Joshua and Bill, to avenge their fallen leader.

Heh heh… I’ve been spending all evening looking at Arabian and half-Arabian horses, as I will need some good riding mounts for my big ranch! They’ll have to be kept separate from the working horses, because I tend to turn my horses into 1,000-pound dogs. They love me, and I love them, and once I start petting on them and hanging out with them, they will ignore everyone else and follow only me. That’s no good, when you need certain horses to work your cows or do other things on the ranch! So yeah…my special ponies would be my buddies, and thus subject to becoming really big, lovable and loved-upon dogs. (^-^)
I found some beautiful Texas horses, too, ones that are described as gentle, laid back, intelligent, affectionate and people-loving. That’s exactly what I want, too, because those who stay with me as guests might like to ride, as well, and I would want all my horses to be calm and easy-going buddies for them. At least one of the horses would have to not mind me riding bareback and with just a bosal, because I prefer that to saddle and bitted bridle. I have an Indian in my blood and my soul, and he likes to ride the natural way!

Ain’t he gorgeous?! I love that Palomino coloring. No matter which other horse I chose, I’d sure love to have him!
Aaaand, for today’s update, in Rustler’s Roundup, Joshua and Bill get on their way south, and decide to camp out at West Buffalo Creek, near Cleburne.

I had a very tiring weekend. My roomie and I worked our butts off to clean and re-organize our garage, but the result is fabulous! We keep looking out there, just to admire our work.
Some of you may have noticed a small square ad in the right-hand sidebar on my site, for Cardan’s Pod. I’ve been lazy and haven’t blogged about it, until today, but it’s a very cool science fiction novel written by my friend, Rick Higginson. It’s a well-thought-out and compelling story, with interesting characters and an exciting premise that makes us think about what it means to be human. Go check it out! I’m sure you’ll love it as much as I did!
For today’s updates, in The Faraian Conspiracy, General al Prasad’s secret comes to light, when Fari and Sheara go to his flat. And in Rustler’s Roundup, Jenny returns to the cabin in Dechman, ready to confront Joshua, but the boys are both long gone.

Whoo, boy, am I in need of a serious vacation. My head is just all over the place, lately, and all I want to do is sleep. Since I mostly work for myself, I don’t truly get days off or vacation time, and it gets to be pretty difficult, sometimes. Still, I wouldn’t want to go back to working for someone else, full time. I can handle it in small spurts, but now I’ve become spoiled on independence. I never was meant to be somebody else’s employee.
As for today’s updates, in The Faraian Conspiracy, Jason and Mara complete the first part of their mission, and neither of them is prepared to deal with the psychological effects of it. And in Rustler’s Roundup, Jenny sets up a little vengeance upon Joshua, and then heads for the cabin in Dechman.

Ugh. Part of me really hates spring. That would be the part of me that is allergic to almost every tree, shrub, and grass in Texas, the part of me that spends this time of year in sneezy, sniffly, itchy misery. Allergies suck, and I wish I had a non-drug way of dealing with them, other than just trying to cope with the symptoms.
*sigh* I guess I could always move back to southern California, where I didn’t have most of these allergy problems. The kink in that rope, though, is that I can’t afford to move to California, and couldn’t afford to stay there, after I got there. Been there, done that, still have the scars and don’t want no more! Though, if money were no issue, I’d happily return to Glendale and find another nice place among the foothills. I enjoyed living there (when I didn’t think about the problems I had, at the time). It’s a nice area.
For now, I suppose I’ll just stay here and deal with the allergens as best I can, and hope that my multi-million-dollar ship will soon come in, so I can at least afford to buy some decent allergy meds to help me enjoy my big ol’ ranch in the Hill Country. (^-^)

I’m nearly done with the re-mixing of my Raw album! I’m so glad, too, because my ears have had enough!! I’ll be happy when I finish the last song, as then I can start on putting the packages together and getting the CDs out to those who had wanted them. I’m behind on all that, so it will really feel good to git ‘er done.
But for now, I’m about to have some 4-meat pizza, which I shall top with leftover roast and 4 more cheeses, to make the ultimate ultimate pizza! YUM! (^o^)
And, for today’s update, in Rustler’s Roundup, Jenny gets her romantic scenario, but it doesn’t quite turn out the way she had planned!
