The Stress Continues

October 8th, 2008 Kai Starr

Well, I have spent a lot of time looking at horses for my ranch, just to try and calm my nerves. It helps a little bit, but not as much as I really need for it to help. *sigh* Oh well. Maybe by this weekend, things will have settled down, some. I sure hope so. (O.o)

Today, in Desperado Dawn, Seth Jackson gets back to Austin, and so does Molly McLaughlan.

Stressful Times

October 7th, 2008 Kai Starr

*sigh* I am extremely stressed out, right now. So I don’t really have anything that I feel like talking about. In lieu of me yakking, please have some story. (^-^)

Today, in Desperado Dawn, Joshua doesn’t take the news of Molly’s departure very well.

Dust, Dust and More Dust!

October 6th, 2008 Kai Starr

Ugh. Lots of physical work, today, moving around boxes in my late aunt’s place. Oh, the dust!!!!! (O.o) I am sick from the dust. But thank God for zicam allergy gel! It’s literally the only thing standing between me and a major sinus infection.

There is still so much to do, that I may not have updates for every day, this week. I’ll do my best to keep them up, but if I don’t have time to write, I just won’t have time.

Today, in Desperado Dawn, Jenny learns more about Emmett and his woman, Lottie, and Lottie gives her more advice on how to deal with Nathan.

What is WRONG With People?!

October 5th, 2008 Kai Starr

Oh man. More troubles, for me! Some woman hit my car in the grocery store parking lot, got out and looked at it, looked me in the eye as I sat in the driver’s seat, and then she WALKED AWAY. What the hell is WRONG with people, these days?! I had to get out and yell “Hey!” at the two women until they finally came back. Then they pretended they couldn’t speak English, which was bullshit, as they both spoke perfect English, when the police officer arrived. I had to call the police, just to get her insurance info, because she refused to give it to me. That ought to be against the law. Someone who refuses to give their insurance info to the other driver, when they’ve been in an accident, ought to at LEAST be given a ticket. What’s the point of having insurance, if you’re allowed to withhold it, after you’ve caused an accident? GRR!

Seriously, what’s wrong with people?! You hit someone’s car and cause damage to it; you look at it; you look at the owner of the other car, and you walk away, as if it’s nothing?! Good God, had I hit THEIR car, they’d have both been in my face. They were both on cell phones, telling whoever they were speaking with that this “bastard” and “son of a bitch” was giving them trouble over this “tiny scratch” they caused, as if they had the right to do it and I had no right to complain. Oh, and they were saying this in Spanish, thinking I wouldn’t know. So I loudly told my roomie (who was with me), that they could call me a bastard and a son of a bitch in Spanish all they wanted, but it didn’t change the fact that THEY hit MY car and THEY were responsible for the damage.

Grr. This week is not starting off, well. I hope it isn’t a portend of what’s to come. (-.-)

Today, in Desperado Dawn, Sheriff Harrison scares the bejeezus out of Henry Owens, after throwing him in the Round Rock jail.

My Aunt Has Passed Away

October 2nd, 2008 Kai Starr

Sad news, today. My elderly aunt passed away, Thursday morning. She would have been 72, this month. I was not really close to her, but I shall miss her. I hope she is happier, wherever she has gone to, now, than she was in life. :(

Today, in Desperado Dawn, Molly decides she can’t stand to hang around and watch Joshua get killed, and won’t listen to Ricky’s arguments for why she ought to stay.

In The Hole, Again

October 1st, 2008 Kai Starr

Well, I lost, y’all. I was fighting an oncoming depression, and it was just stronger than me, this time. So I feel pretty crummy, right now. Been sleeping a lot, and not wanting to do a damn thing other than stare into space (or hurt myself–which I won’t do, as I have people around me to help keep me in line). Not much I can do about it, though, other than to ride it out and try to ignore the little lunatic inside who wants to kill me. No worries, though. I’ll be fine in a few days or maybe a couple of weeks, depending on when it feels like letting go of me. I’ve had these episodes all of my life, so I’m used to them. They’re actually not as bad as they once were, and they don’t last nearly as long as they used to, so I’m grateful, for that. I wish, sometimes, there was a magic pill that could make them go away, forever, but there isn’t. Every med I have tried has done nothing more than zombie-fy me, and I’d rather be depressed than feel nothing. I get a lot of mileage out of my depressions, too, as far as writing goes. So in a weird, weird way, I’m grateful for them.

Today, in Desperado Dawn, Molly goes to see Joshua, and they have a nasty little argument that can’t possibly lead to anything good.

Grr Does Not Begin To Cover It

September 30th, 2008 Kai Starr

Meh. I haven’t really got anything to talk about, today, that would not make me mad. So please forgive me for this short blog entry. I’ll make it up, later, when I have something pleasant to talk about, or at least, something mildly entertaining!

Instead of me yakking, how about some story? :P

Today, in Desperado Dawn, Joshua has a half-conscious flashback, and Sheriff Jackson gets put into an uncomfortable position.

Ramblin Man

September 29th, 2008 Kai Starr

Hahaha… I am reading just a little bit too much agricultural and animal husbandry stuff, lately. Note to self: Don’t want to raise pigs. :P Yeah, at the moment, I am sticking to the idea of horses, only. At least for a while. Maybe the Angora goats, later, once I’ve had time to acclimate myself to the new life. I like goats, but I’m not sure I’m ready for them, full time. Horses, hell, yeah. I gotta have my horses!

Anyway, I haven’t got anything more interesting to say than that, today. Sorry about that. I am still very stressed out and having trouble concentrating on things. (O.o)

Today, in Desperado Dawn, Sheriff Jackson gets to Doc Shackleford’s with Joshua, and gets told to stick around, a while..

Still Need a Home!

September 28th, 2008 Kai Starr

Long, long weekend. (O.o) I saw one small ranch that I thought I liked, which had a gorgeous private lake, but decided I didn’t like it as much as I had thought. Too many nitpicky problems quickly add up in my mind as one major problem. I’m starting to think I’m just too picky. I know I’m picky, but this is a much more important decision than a brand of chocolate or even a make of car. So, I dunno. I’m starting to ramble. :P

Anyway, I’m still taking my time on my choice. I don’t have to rush it, and I don’t intend to. In the meantime, I’m still learning new stuff, every day. Saturday, I started learning about pond management. Sunday, I was reading on hay growing, mowing, baling, sylage, etc. I’ve already been through organic gardening and heirloom plants, poultry management and several other topics that had been new to me, before. Been brushing up on equine topics, as it’s been a great number of years since I had a horse of my own, and several years since I was in a position to care for someone else’s horses. No matter what other things I do on my ranch, I will absolutely, positively have at least 3 horses. Preferably, 4-6 horses, as my friends, family and I enjoy riding. Even my mom is excited about the idea of having horses that she can come and ride!

All I need, now, is for everyone who wants to help to send me some good wishes and thoughts, so I can quickly find my perfect home and settle down in it enough to get back to full-steam-ahead writing. Right now, I am so distracted and irritable, that I’m finding it difficult to write what are normally easy stories for me to work on. So, if you can send me some good thoughts, prayers, wishes for success, etc, please send them! I’ll certainly share pics of my new home with you, and also lots and lots of new stories!

Today, in Desperado Dawn, Nate and Jenny make it to Lottie’s house, and Jenny begins to think about why it would be bad for her, if Nate suddenly died, before Joshua had arrived to rescue her.

A Very Nice Birthday

September 25th, 2008 Kai Starr

I had a decent birthday, yesterday. I had no major problems, got lots of birthday wishes, and I got a nice Mexican dinner as a present. Even got a free sopapilla! My lady bought me another year of LiveJournal, so I can keep up my personal blog in my usual way. I also got several lottery tickets, so we’ll see what kind of presents those turn into! All in all, it was a pretty good day. (^-^)

Today, in Desperado Dawn, Curly Alexander finds Sheriff Harrison’s group, just as they capture one of the Blake gang members.
