Very busy week! I haven’t much to say, today. Sorry about that. I’ll try to do better at having something interesting to say, once the current crisis in my life has passed by. (O.o)

Ha! My mind is all chaotic, this week. I’ve made a bunch of silly mistakes, in a bunch of different places. Simple things, like forgetting to change a link or putting in a wrong name, here and there. I think I’m just a bit on the exhausted side, both physically and emotionally. A lot of stuff happens to me, on a daily basis, and not all of it is good! I don’t talk about all of it, here, because I imagine nobody really wants to hear about the soap opera that is my life. I have enough drama going on in my stories, eh? 
But yeah, sometimes, things get really rough for me. It’s not all peaches and cream. I do the best I can, with whatever I’m handed, though. I don’t stop trying, no matter what. That either makes me a stubborn go-getter, or a pathetic fool. I’m not sure which, and frankly, I don’t really give a damn, anyway. 
I’ve also been having some really, REALLY weird dreams, lately. I’m almost tempted to talk about them, but they are so surreal, that if I told them, I’d probably just have everyone believing I was some kind of opium fiend, or something. For the record, I’m not an opium fiend. I’m a chocolate fiend. A bona fide chocoholic. Thank God chocolate is not yet illegal! (^-^)

Today, in A Covenant of Shadows, Doctor Rubenstein gets an unexpected and unpleasant surprise, when he tries his procedure out on Genjiro. And in Desperado Dawn, Jenny and George leave Austin in the middle of the night, and have a very…unfortunate run-in with the infamous outlaw, Nathan Blake, and his nasty little gang.

It was so hot today that I was halfway unconscious through most of it! I suppose I need to keep a closer watch on the thermostat, so I can make sure I don’t pass out from the heat, before I realize how hot it is in the house! I’ve had heat exhaustion, before, and I do not want to go through that, again. (O.o)
Anyway, enough about me. I have story.

Whew! We’re in a long stretch of triple-digit heat down here in Texas, right now. One of the local weathermen has HOT written in huge red letters over every day in his forecast, which would be funny if it wasn’t, you know, indicating that we are about to start baking in our boots, again. And I foolishly keep reminding myself that we are not yet in the hottest part of the Texas summer. No, that won’t get here until August. Until then, we’re just mildly simmering! (O.o)
Meanwhile, back at the ranch…
Today, in A Covenant of Shadows, we begin Book 2 of the novel, called “Nightmare’s Shadow.” Genjiro finds himself in another dream, but this time, it’s a full memory of the events following his return to Exedra from Farai. This part of the novel is in an extended flashback format. And in Desperado Dawn, Josh, Ricky and Molly cross the Colorado River and head for the hills, looking for a good hideout.

Sorry for running a bit late on today’s update! I had stretched out to rest a bit, and before I knew it, I had fallen asleep. Yikes! That doesn’t often happen to me, so I must have been a lot more tired than I thought. Oh well. I’m still getting the story updated within a couple of hours of midnight, CST. I guess that’s not too bad.
Monday, I hope to have the sequel to Rustler’s Roundup started in serialization, so keep an eye out for it!
