Not much to say, today, since I was feeling a little stressed out and sickly, yesterday. I did get a good bit of writing done, in spite of it, though! Just not quite as much as I’d done, the day before.
Anyway, have some story! :P
Today, in Desperado Dawn, Sheriff Harrison and Shorty take care of Henry’s body, and then set off after Joshua, when they realize one of the maps is missing. And in Justice Rides In Leather, Garrett finds he is being followed, as he starts off on his long journey.

I’m back on track, again, with my NaNoWriMo novel, Justice Rides In Leather! I had fallen behind in my daily word counts, but I just did a whopping 5,095 words in one sitting, and got myself ahead, again. Yay, me! \(^o^)/
That gives me a nice buffer for the daily updates, here, which always eases my stress level, considerably. I hope you’re enjoying the new story, too. I’m certainly enjoying the writing of it, though I’m not trying as hard to be historically accurate, as I have tried with some of the other Westerns. I will likely go back, during the editing stage, and do some rewriting of the story, so that it will be more accurate for the places and times I’ve chosen for the setting, but for now, I just want to finish the first draft. Thanks for coming along on this wild ride!
Today, in Desperado Dawn, Cal Evans sets out on his mission to kill Pig-Man Henry Owens. And in Justice Rides In Leather, Garrett has one final spat with his younger brother, Franklin, before setting out on his long journey.

Yikes! It’s already turning cold, out here. I know you folks up north will snicker at me and my definition of “cold,” but that’s okay. I’ll snicker right back at you and your definition of “hot.” :P Anyway, it’s cold enough to make me uncomfortable. It doesn’t really take much cold to make me shiver. I’ve always been that way, too. Just ain’t built to take cool weather! (^o^)
Today, in Desperado Dawn, Lottie discovers Jenny’s hidden knife, and scolds her, accordingly. And in Justice Rides In Leather, Garrett pays his last social call on Miss Julia Grace Butrum.

I’m still doing pretty well in my NaNoWriMo novel, Justice Rides In Leather. I’m at least staying just beyond the goal, for daily writings! I figure I’ll at least hit the 50,000-word mark, by the end of the month, which will be a satisfying feat, considering that I’m writing that book at the same time as I’m working on Desperado Dawn. It’s not all that easy to write two books, at once, but it sure is a good workout for the brain! :P
Today, in Desperado Dawn, Deputy Shorty Baker asks Joshua for the maps he got from Henry Owens, but Josh doesn’t give him all of them, as he suspects they mean to leave him out of the chase for the rest of the Blake gang! And in Justice Rides In Leather, Garrett walks Miss Annie home, and the encounter with the poor girl leaves him feeling down.

Not so much writing done, this time. I’m still battling with the Lords of Chaos, and MAN! are they tough boogers!! *sigh* Needless to say, I’m falling behind, again, with my storytelling. But, never fear! I have an approaching weekend, which I hope shall be used for kicking my writing engine into high gear. I have chocolate; I have Coca-Cola; and I have beer, so I should be primed for lots of creatin’! :P
Today, in Desperado Dawn, Jenny discovers she isn’t quite as ruthless as she thinks she is. And in Justice Rides In Leather, A trip to the tailor’s shop gets Garrett a better-fitting coat, and also a heads-up on who has been following him around, all day.

Whew! Got lots of writing done, on Wednesday! I had almost the whole day to myself, for a change, and thought I’d better put it to good use! Suffice to say, I have two new chapters for you, today. No update for Justice Rides In Leather, today. I was out allllll day, on Tuesday, and I only managed to get one chapter written for Desperado Dawn. But I don’t have as many errands and such to do, on Wednesday, so I’m planning on getting lots more writing done! Garrett Gunn is already starting to get as pushy about his story as Joshua Love is about his! I swear, keeping up with the both of them is a chore and a half! :P
Today, in Desperado Dawn, Joshua pays a visit to Henry Owens, at the Round Rock jail, and proceeds to scare him into coughing up the information that Josh needs.

My NaNoWriMo novel, Justice Rides In Leather, is coming along very well! It’s turning out to be a good book, though I have no clue where Garrett’s going to take me. That’s part of the fun of writing blind, with no outline or anything more than a single line of plot to guide me! It’s challenging, yet extremely rewarding, to be carried along the story stream by my characters. I’m often just as surprised as my readers about what comes up in the story!

Well, I am officially participating in NaNoWriMo, again! And, I’m doing another Western, this time, which will be part of the ongoing Desperado series. It’s called Justice Rides In Leather, and it stars Joshua Love’s nemesis, Garrett Gunn! But Garrett is only 19 years old, in this story, and he has yet to meet Joshua. Here’s the summary for the book:
Young deputy Garrett Gunn finds his violent methods of law enforcement are unwelcome in the little town of Cottage Grove, Tennessee, so he heads out toward the lawless towns of the Wild West, to find–or to make–his place in the world.
I’ve posted the first three chapters for today, along with the usual single chapter of Desperado Dawn, and I hope no one minds that the chapters are up earlier than usual. My bedtime is earlier than usual, right now, so a lot of my updates may have to be done before midnight CST!
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the new novel! I’ll be posting it here, as I write it, and like Desperado Dawn, it will be posted as an unedited first draft. So please bear this in mind, if you find any errors in the text. The final edited version may differ, considerably, from the one posted here!

My challenge, this time, is to see if I can finish the NaNoWriMo book and keep up with the chapters for Desperado Dawn! Whether or not I can do it remains to be seen, but I have faith in myself. Barring some unforeseen catastrophe, I can do it!! (^o^)
