Well, we had some weird crap going on with the electricity, on Monday, so just in case anything is still screwy in that direction for a few hours, I’m making my Tuesday update early. I didn’t think anyone would mind. (And a very big thanks go to a good friend who helped us through the trouble!)
I’m also way too tired to think of anything interesting to say in this blog, for today. I’ve been away for nearly 30 hours, now, and I’m kinda falling over in my chair. So please forgive me if I make any errors or seem to be wonky in the head. I’m doin’ my best! (O.o)
But now, I am headed for bed! I hope I can make it in there before I pass out. :P
Today, in Rustler’s Roundup, Jenny and George arrive in Belton and are noticed by Ricky…who begs them to let him come along in their search for Joshua.

Yesterday, I had a big bunch of delicious, yellow summer squash, with which I made a decadent casserole! It had tons of butter and cheddar cheese in it, and was so good, I had a hard time making myself stop eating it! However, I think next time I make it, I’ll cut back on the butter and add in some sour cream, instead! That sounds really good! Today, though, I’m going to be making a bunch of steamed broccoli crowns, possibly with sour cream sauce or cheese sauce for dipping. Mmm-mm! I loves mah veg! This time next year, all these lovely veggies shall be coming fresh from my garden! Whee! \(^o^)/
Today, in A Covenant of Shadows, Genjiro casually makes his way downtown to Ground Zero, but he doesn’t like what he finds there. And in Rustler’s Roundup, Jenny and George arrive in Belton and are noticed by Ricky…who begs them to let him come along in their search for Joshua.

I’m finding more horses for my ranch! I can’t stop looking at them and I keep falling in love with new ones, every day, it seems. But I think I have finally made up my mind on the first two. If these two are still available (and end up being compatible with me) when I am ready to buy, I will buy them first.
Sugar (”Soft Loppin’ Sal”) is a Quarter Horse mare with sorrel coat and flaxen mane and tail. She’s nine years old, is allegedly bombproof, has been trained for trail riding, and has the sweetest face I have ever seen. Here’s her headshot:

Cooter (”Maysdorf Music Boy”) is a Quarter Horse gelding, all grey. He’s eight years old, has been trained for ranch work and trail riding, and is gentle enough that his current owners use him to teach new riders the ropes. He’s a handsome guy, and would make a great boyfriend for Sugar!

Now that my initial horses are decided on, I shall have to start thinking of the goats and/or chickens, next. Though, I may just leave it at the two horses for a while, and see what happens. I may end up raising horses, instead of goats. ;P
Today, in A Covenant of Shadows, Anya Bui sits in her office and thinks about what she has just done, and worries about her husband. And in Rustler’s Roundup, Joshua Love leaves Belton, just before dawn, and leaves a gift for Ricky Celis.

Ha… I almost got myself back on track with my sleeping, but then I got a wave of sleepiness during the day that I couldn’t overcome. *sigh* I guess I might as well count on spending most of my weekend trying to readjust my mind and body to a proper schedule. Working nights helped to get my body used to the overnight wakefulness, but I am no longer working that schedule. It’s harder to get out of it than it was to get into it! But I’m certain I’ll do it. I just need a little more time.
Today, in Rustler’s Roundup, Jenny and George stop in Hillsboro, and get a lead on which way Joshua went, although the info comes at an undesirable cost for Jenny!

My sleep schedule is alllll screwed up, again. I can’t seem to get myself out of vampire mode, but I need to, muy pronto! Being up all night long is great, as far as getting my work done in peace is concerned, but it makes it difficult-to-impossible for me to do anything else, such as shopping or making business calls or talking to people who live on the normal day schedule. I need to make a special effort, this weekend, to get my sleeping back on track, even if it means I have to stay awake for a full 24 hours just to force myself back into the proper mode!

It’s been a nice quiet evening, here in Mesquite! Thank goodness. (O.o) This weekend, there was a bit of a noisy party going on, next door, and I was most annoyed. But they shut it down by 2 a.m., so I didn’t feel inclined to fuss too much about it. I was, however, annoyed by the neighbors who felt it was okay to park their cars on our lawn, and to traipse back and forth across our front porch and lawn as if it was a public sidewalk. That always annoys me, and they are lucky I didn’t feel like going out and screaming at them. :P
Anyway, for today’s updates, in Rustler’s Roundup, Ricky Celis gives his new idol a very rude awakening.

Things get even more complicated and strange, when he goes home and talks to his wife about it all! And in Rustler’s Roundup, Jenny Sue Carter finally drops the bomb on George Thicke, as far as what she really wants him to do for her.

Well, we didn’t quite get the promised thunderstorms, yesterday. I’m a bit disappointed that we got no rain. Not even a sprinkle! But, oh well. I guess we’ll deal with it, as we always do. I hear there is a terrible drought going on, out in California, and I send all of those folks good wishes for rain! We’ve had some severe water restrictions out here, too, and I hope we don’t have to go through all that, again.
Today’s update includes the very last chapter for The Faraian Conspiracy! Next week, I’ll try to have the sequel, A Covenant of Shadows started with four or five chapters in the initial update. And in Rustler’s Roundup, Ricky returns to Joshua’s bedside and finds himself falling asleep, too.

Well, suddenly, we have a chance of thunderstorms down here! Maybe this will help with our popping and settling foundation. I hope so!
Heh…I almost forgot to get this update ready, because I was preoccupied with looking at websites about goats. Some of you may remember me talking about wanting to be a goat rancher and raise Angoras. I’m still going back and forth on that, and to help myself along in making up my mind, I’ve been reading as much as possible on the subject of raising this type of goat. Goats are, generally, easy to take care of, but they can cost a lot in feed and vet care. I’d probably start out with only 2 or 4 goats, to see how I liked working them and whether or not it would be something I’d want to do on a long-term basis. I was a goat farmer in a past life, but that was a looooooong time ago. I still like goats a lot, but don’t know for sure that I want to raise them, again. I know that I want horses. I must have horses, but any other animals are still up for debate.
Today, in Rustler’s Roundup, Jenny finds out just how wobbly George Thicke’s spine really is, when he gets caught trying to sneak her into his room at Mrs. Hamilton’s boarding house!

Very dry weather down in Mesquite, Texas, right now! Our poor old house is settling and popping and cracking paint. We’ve been watering the foundation, but it’s not doing much good. It’s just too damn dry! I sure wish I was already on that dream ranch, and out of this sucky suburb. I don’t like living this close to other people. :P Seriously, I truly am a loner. I do best when I don’t have to interact with a lot of other people, face to face. I talk waaaaaaay more online than I do offline! In fact, offline, I hardly ever speak, at all. Hard to believe, isn’t it? (~-^)
Today, in Rustler’s Roundup, Doctor Crowley gets a taste of Joshua’s stubbornness.
