Summer Idiots

June 19th, 2008 Kai Starr

With gas prices what they are, now, why in the world do some people get out of their cars to “run in” to the grocery store or post office or whatever, and leave their car engine running?! Talk about wasteful! I know it’s summer, and here in Texas, it gets damnably hot in summer, especially in a closed-up automobile, but still! Gas at over $4 a gallon, and you leave your car sitting there idling without you in it. That, to me, is as wasteful as buying a burger at McDonald’s, taking one bite out of it, and then throwing the rest away. It’s not only wasteful, but it’s hard on the car’s engine to let it sit in idle for longer than a few minutes. I’ve seen these cars running, empty, for fifteen minutes or more, with the a/c compressor audibly working. How ignorant can a person be?! :P

Anyway, enough ranting. I have stories to share. (^-^)

Today, in A Covenant of Shadows, Genjiro has a bad dream, and it causes Anya a whole lot of worry, after she discovers the cryptic note in his pocket. And in Rustler’s Roundup, Joshua finds some comfort in a “sporting girl” named Molly.

Today’s Updates:

A Covenant of Shadows

A Covenant of Shadows, chapter 8 (ShadowFall novel)

Rustler’s Roundup

Rustler’s Roundup, chapter 101 (Desperado novel)

I’ve been reading along for a while now. I just wanted to drop you a comment to say keep up the good work.

  2. Thanks! I appreciate it, very much. Which story are you reading, if I may ask? I kind of like to know which ones folks like the best. (^-^)

I just fixed a goof in the Western. Seems I managed to leave out Chapter 57, somehow. But it’s all fixed, now, and everything is in its proper order.
