Woohoo! Rustler’s Roundup is now complete! I finished the last three chapters, last night, so the story will be winding up on this site on Wednesday, July 9, 2008. Then I get the very fun (can you hear the sarcasm?) job of editing it. I also get the truly fun (no sarcasm, this time!) job of starting the groundwork on the sequel! Until I’m ready to start posting that story, I’ll probably increase the ShadowFall novel’s installments from twice weekly to three times, with new posts on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. We’ll see how that goes, though. I may have something else up my sleeve, to post daily or nigh-daily! 
Today, in Rustler’s Roundup, Ricky’s idolization of Joshua seems to have gone up a notch or two.

Whew…! I did a whole lot of writing, on Sunday night! Five full chapters of Rustler’s Roundup, which amounts to about 5,233 words! I’ve done twice that much in one sitting, before, but still, anything over 2K words is a feat for me, lately. Especially considering how hectic and unpleasant my life has been. (O.o)
Today, in A Covenant of Shadows, Doctor Rubenstein gets an unexpected and unpleasant visit from Hiroki Risu. And in Rustler’s Roundup, Ricky leads Joshua to the Metropolitan Hotel, where Josh proceeds to give Jenny and George a royal what-for!

Wow, I slept a lot later than normal, today. I guess posting my updates at 6 in the morning, my time, still counts as being posted for today. Before you know it, my vampire sleep schedule will be permanently killed to death! Mwahahaha! (^o^)
Today, in A Covenant of Shadows, Genjiro has some powerful hallucinations while showering, and ends up calling Anya at work to ask her to come home. And in Rustler’s Roundup, Ricky catches Joshua at the Bullock House hotel, and fills him in on what he thinks Jenny and George are up to.

Heh… I’m slowly getting my sleep pattern readjusted. I went to sleep super early, last night, and got up this morning at a proper farm/ranch time of 4 A.M. This means my update is a few hours later than usual, but I don’t know whether or not anyone is actually expecting it to be online at exactly midnight CST, anyway.
Today, in Rustler’s Roundup, Joshua wakes up in Molly’s bed, after having a bad dream, and ends up running away from love, again.

Oh, man. I think I’m falling back into the vampire sleep mode. This is no good! I can’t seem to keep myself on a daytime schedule. Working nights for so long has really screwed me up, I guess. Maybe this weekend, I can work harder at trying to get myself realigned. Or maybe I’m just going to have to give up trying for a while, and go after it, again, later, when my life isn’t so full of stress. (-.-)
Today, in Rustler’s Roundup, George finds Jenny and takes her to the drug store for some soda water, and all the while, tries to feel her out about her true feelings for Joshua.

Gak! I made another goof, halfway back in the posting of the chapters for Rustler’s Roundup. Somehow, I managed to skip chapter 57, and the chapter 57 that I posted was actually chapter 58. (-.-) I feel so stupid, when I do things like that. Anyway, I just got through going through the whole damned thing and fixing it all, which is why this post is arriving on Sunday instead of Monday. This will be the update for Monday, just getting here early, so I can make certain I’ve fixed everything. Anyway, I’m giving a link to the real chapter 57, below, and this means that the last chapter posted on Friday is not 101, but in fact, 102. So today, we get 57, the real 102, and 103 for the Western. Sorry about that, folks!
Today, in A Covenant of Shadows, Genjiro wakes up and finds yet another cryptic note, but this time, it’s attached to a computer chip. And in Rustler’s Roundup, Ricky finds out from Miller’s Livery and Stables which hotel Joshua Love is staying in, and he hot-foots it right over there.

With gas prices what they are, now, why in the world do some people get out of their cars to “run in” to the grocery store or post office or whatever, and leave their car engine running?! Talk about wasteful! I know it’s summer, and here in Texas, it gets damnably hot in summer, especially in a closed-up automobile, but still! Gas at over $4 a gallon, and you leave your car sitting there idling without you in it. That, to me, is as wasteful as buying a burger at McDonald’s, taking one bite out of it, and then throwing the rest away. It’s not only wasteful, but it’s hard on the car’s engine to let it sit in idle for longer than a few minutes. I’ve seen these cars running, empty, for fifteen minutes or more, with the a/c compressor audibly working. How ignorant can a person be?!
Anyway, enough ranting. I have stories to share. (^-^)

Well, I haven’t quite got my sleep schedule adjusted back to daytime wakefulness. I thought I had, but then we had a big rain storm that literally put me to sleep. That sound is just so soothing! I can’t fight it.
Oh well. I shall try, again!
Today, in Rustler’s Roundup, Jenny, George and Ricky make it to Austin, and Ricky gives George some unsolicited “sage advice” about women and gunslingers.

I think I have about got my vampire sleeping schedule fixed! It took staying awake for over 30 hours, and then doing some hard sleeping for a few hours at a time, but I think I’ve got it in hand, now. At least, I hope I do! It was rainy and stormy all day, Tuesday, so I couldn’t tell whether my sleepiness was due to the weather or to my body trying to return to that daytime sleep pattern. I guess I’ll see what happens!
