Ugh. I am still very sick, today. But, at least I kind of have something to talk about. I finally got around to watching the 2007 remake of 3:10 to Yuma, and I have to say that I liked it a lot. The only thing that bugged me about it was that it seemed like the actors were constantly whispering, so that the one scene at the Evans’ ranch where they were supposed to be whispering kind of lost its impact. In spite of that, it was a great story, well told, and well acted by the cast. I even dug Russell Crowe–which surprised me, as sometimes, he annoys me. I fell in love with his hat, though. Me wants it. (^-^)
Anyway, I would highly recommend the film to anyone who likes Westerns, though I would warn you that it moves a little slow, at first. I like that kind of pacing (as you know, if you’re reading Rustler’s Roundup!), so it didn’t bother me, but I know some people prefer the action to start in frame one. Still, if you can get through the slower opening, I think you’ll really like the film.

*sigh* Looks as though I’m getting sick, again. Stupid allergies!! This, combined with weird work hours, will likely keep my updates delayed until 2 a.m. CST or so. Sorry about that! I’ll do my best to get the story installments online as quickly as I can, but I can’t do it from work, so it’s guaranteed to be somewhat late, as long as this job continues (which will be through April, at least). I’m hoping to win the lottery, so I won’t have to go to a crappy job, any more.
Aaaaaanyway, today, in The Faraian Conspiracy, Major Kogh walks in on General Prasad just as he has fallen into an exhausted doze. And in Rustler’s Roundup, Cole rides out to the Dechman cabin and informs Joshua and Bill that Ramon wants them in Dallas…without Jenny!

Troubles, troubles, troubles!! I’m about sick of them. Somebody, quick! Send me some good thoughts for prosperity! Or, at least, send me some hugs, so I can at least feel a little loved and appreciated and consoled. A guy can never get too many hugs, as I see it. All hugs and love received will be eagerly returned in kind, too. I’m a huggy-lovey kind of guy. <3

Well, I still haven’t had a chance to get that portrait of Josh and Jenny done, thanks to the usual chaotic nature of my life. I’m still trying to get all my files moved off my old webhost and onto the new one, a task that is not made any easier by the fact that I have a painfully slow dialup internet connection. The old Kyoki Press site has over 500 MB of files on it!! I’m beginning to think I’ll never get done. It’s a shame that I don’t have some kind of Get-Kai-a-Real-Internet-Connection fund to draw from, but I suppose that, even if I did, I’d end up having to spend it on other bills, instead. So I guess it’s just as well. *sigh*
Anyway, no more whining, for now.

Woo! Off work, last night, so I can update on time! Unfortunately, I haven’t got a lot to talk about, right now. I’m kind of wiped out from work and some other stressful things going on in my life, so my thinking isn’t all that straight. I’ll try to have something a little more interesting to say, for tomorrow’s update.

Ugh! My sleep pattern got all messed up, again. Some idiot around here oversprayed their property with some kind of alien-killing, industrial-strength pesticide, and our whole house filled up with it. I have been so incredibly sick. Feel like I am about to die from it. *sigh* I need my horse ranch, muy pronto!! At least with 20 or so acres surrounding my house, I would not be stuck up right against some other idiot’s smells and noises and problems. I would be in heaven.
Why am I not already able to buy a lousy 20 acres?! Man, this bites. Oh well. I’ve been suffering throughout my life, so I guess it would be foolish of me to hope that things will ever be different than the normal pattern of my life, eh?
Enough of that. I have an update, today, though I have still not finished the Josh and Jenny portrait. I’ll get to that as soon as I can stop dying from breathing pesticide all day and night. (-.-)

Bah. I didn’t get the portrait of Josh and Jenny done, this weekend, due to the flurry of activity surrounding the changing schedule of my job. I did, however, get the silly little short story done for Joshua Love, in which he has some fun in a San Antonio cantina…and writes a song! I’ve included a link to the MP3 in the story text. It’s a silly song, and I hope you like it!
I also did this little portrait of Joshua Love, aged seventeen.
I remembered to add his freckles, this time!
Today, in The Faraian Conspiracy, Jason and Mara make it onworld at Farai, and Jason is disappointed in the vehicle the agency has provided for them. And in Rustler’s Roundup, Joshua and Jenny leave the Carter mansion and head for Fort Worth, since Josh has decided he needs to buy a new banjo.

Whew! I finally got a little rest, after being awake and running at full speed for just under 24 hours. I have to admit, I do still feel kinda weird and tired, but at least, my brain isn’t continually getting itself stuck in “Uh?!” mode. Look, Ma! Kai can form coherent sentences, again!
