New Desperado short story, today! In addition to the usual novel chapters for Rustler’s Roundup and The Faraian Conspiracy, today’s update brings you the latest short story for the Western series. Rubbin’ Eyeballs With a Gunn takes place in 1873, about three years after the Rustler’s Roundup story, after Joshua Love is firmly established in his outlaw lifestyle. The story is actually an excerpt from the unfinished novel, Deader Than Lester, but it stands on its own, in this form. In it, Joshua Love has his first face-to-face meeting with his strongest nemesis, US Marshal Garrett Gunn!

Gunn made a brief and unnamed appearance in the 1873 novel, Three Ways From Sunday, but he’s back in full force for Deader Than Lester, and he’s determined–even obsessed–with capturing or killing Joshua Love. I’m looking forward to writing more for these two. They work well off each other!

So, for today’s serial updates, in The Faraian Conspiracy, Jason and Mara continue to butt heads, and Jason decides to let Mara take out his frustrations in a painful way. And in Rustler’s Roundup, Josh and Jenny keep each other warm in the woods by making love…or at least, trying to.
